Wreath Making Party

Gather with your friends this Holiday for a cup of cheer and make something beautiful for your front door!  Our local Mother’s Club hosts an annual Wreath Making Party the beginning of December.  This was my first year participating and was instantly smitten.  From the twinkly lights warming a garage to the caldron of cider heating us from the inside out, everything smelled like Cedar and Paperwhites!

Here are a few of my tips for hosting your own Wreath Making Party:

Indoor/Outdoor Spaces like a garage or a sunroom work best for an easy, stress free clean up.  Needles and sap are on the guest list, so spare yourself the stress!

Don’t worry about a little chill.  Remind your friends to bundle up.  That’s party of the fun…and what makes the Hot Toddies taste extra delicious:)

Give yourself a head start and buy a traditional Balsam Wreath on a wire frame.  Nesting your own flare into the fragrant greens will be easy, stress free and give you a professional looking end result.

Shiny glass ball ornaments, bells, pinecones, dried flowers like hydrangeas, pepper berries, boxwood, and cinnamon sticks are a few ideas to get you started.  Oh, and don’t forget the bows!

Decorate your space with Christmas lights, and votives.  Paper orbs also make great decor as do seasonal bulbs like Paperwhites and Amaryllis.

Long plastic banquet tables make for a great work space.

Feeling extra ambitious? Pre-make 2 or 3 different styles to give your friends inspiration for their own!

If you have any other ideas, please share! I am already looking forward to next year’s party.
