Grilled Lime Margarita
Fire up the grill and let’s celebrate the warmer days with this delicious Grilled Lime Margarita. I like to use the “3:2:1” ratio when I make my margaritas~ 3 parts tequila, 2 parts lime juice, 1 part simple syrup and a splash of orange liqueur. Like most of my recipes, this is a simple recipe but it has a twist that elevates it to the next level! Before juicing the limes, slice them in half and dip them in granulated sugar. Place the limes, face down, on a hot grill and sear for approximately 5 minutes. Allow to cool for 10 minutes and then juice as normal. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and serve over ice.
Feeling salty? Salt your rim with a Smoky Lime Salt. Mix together 1 Tbs Mediterranean sea salt, 1 Tbs granulated sugar and the zest of 1 lime. I have a small jar of Alder Smoked Salt that I picked up in NYC the last time I was down there. I added 1/2 tsp to the mix that played up the delicious grilled flavor. Cheers!
