Candy, Costumes and Gatherings
Candy, costumes and gatherings are happening now and a great opportunity to spread a little good and pay the fun forward. Here are a few ideas to get the wheels spinning…
Donate the kids costumes- Make a little room in your closet and send along last years Halloween costumes. Most likely, the kids have either out grown them or their interests have shifted. Often times, there are local consigment events in the fall that are happy to take in the festive attire. There are also national companies like ‘Ween Dream that help match your costume up with a deserving child.
Send along the candy– The real fun is in the asking, not the eating, right? Don’t risk getting a stomach ache and pass along the candy to a great cause. Places like The Ronald McDonald house and Any Soldier, welcome the donation of unopened candies to brighten other families or soldiers days.
Food Collection- This is the time of year when we begin to gather and entertain more. The next time you host a costume party or even a get together for a football game, ask your friends to bring a non perishable food item as their hostess gift to be donated to your local food bank.
