Fun Fall Family Activities
Beyond apple picking and hay rides (which we love!) there are so many great activities to enjoy as a family that make this one of my favorite times of year. Here are our Top 9 that leave me smiling when Winter rolls in:
Pumpkin Painting– Save carving knives for the turkey while everyone celebrates their inner artiste. This is appropriate for every age.
Host a Neighborhood Block Party– Cook up a huge crock of chili and mull cider. Less is more when it comes to a low key gathering in the driveway!
Backyard Bonfire cuddled under wool blankets- Don’t put away your s’mores fixings just yet!
Movie Marathon Saturday- A fun way to spend a rainy blustery day. Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter, anyone?
High School Football– Bundle up for your town high school’s football game under the lights. Little kids will think this is extra fun!
Play Dress Up– Don’t wait for Halloween to have all the fun. Early evening light is ideal for capturing whimsical photos of your little cuties this time of year. Butterfly Princesses in the Salt Marsh anyone? Yes, please!
Bake – Finally the temperature has dropped and it feels great to turn the oven on again and bake something delicious. Looking for a new recipe? We have so many ideas for you here!
Give Back – Think about ways you can involve the children in giving back to your community. Maybe it is making a meal at a local church or maybe it is volunteering to clear a town trail or maintain a public garden, roll up your sleeves and get the entire family involved.
Yoga Al Fresco- Take your yoga mat outside and breathe in the delicious fall air with every sun salutation!
