Spring Forward with a Radiant Complexion


Two years ago, I was pregnant with my first child and olive oil tasting in Abruzzo, Itlay with my husband AJ. What a memory!  We were on a culinary extravaganza hosted by our friend Leonardo and Abruzzo1.com.  Leonardo’s network of artisans and purveyors continues to inspire.  As my skin is still so dry from our harsh winter, I am pulling out a gem from one of our stops.

A young, beautiful woman named Francesca had taken over her family’s Olive Oil business and was Olive Oil Tasting with Francesco in Bucchianico, Italyour host at the CantinArte Olive Oil Museum in the small hillside town of Bucchianico, Italy.  She walked us through the history of Olive Oil, the remarkable techniques used to harvest this staple of the Mediterranean lifestyle, tasting tips,  and even a beauty secret passed down by her grandmother!

Their family’s secret to beautiful, radiant skin is as simple as Olive Oil and Water!

Combine 1 Tbs Olivio Extra Virgin Olive Oil with 1 Tbs filtered water in a shallow bowl.  

Emulsify the two ingredients with a small fork and whisk vigorously.  

The mixture will, like magic, become smooth and creamy.

Treat yourself after a warm bath and generously apply this smooth mixture onto your clean skin.  Face, neck and hands will thank you!

I like to alternate my moisturizing routine and use this every other night. I use a simple store bought moisturizer in between uses.  Skin likes to keep things fresh too!
